Akiko Yano choochin by Chris Parker
I was recently touring with Akiko in Japan and created these choochin/lampoons dedicated to her image. Akiko is and has been a very inspiring leader musically and artistically for me, and each image, I've tried to infuse some of the charisma, integrity and energy she projects on stage and to her audiences.
Will and I are also depicted backing Akiko up graphically like we do musically. On two of the choochin/lampoons, I wrote notes from my favorite Akiko' song, "Soft Landing,"
